Surfly, a rapidly growing Amsterdam-based tech company, is revolutionizing online interactions with our innovative virtual browser solution. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Python, Go (server-side), and vanilla JavaScript (client-side) to join our dynamic team.


Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on our sandboxing proxy, which drives all our products. Our stack currently consists of Python and Go on the server-side, and vanilla JavaScript on the client-side.


As a Software Engineer at Surfly, you'll:

  • Develop and maintain our versatile HTTP and WebSocket proxies, implementing sophisticated content rewrites on-the-fly.
  • Contribute to our JavaScript sandbox, enabling the addition of new functionalities to any JS code.
  • Implement and maintain features for our co-browsing solution.

Job requirements

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript.
  • A solid understanding of core web and browser concepts (e.g., how browsers parse and construct web pages).
  • Experience in identifying and solving performance and optimization problems in client-side web applications.
  • Understanding of the HTTP protocol.
  • Be comfortable debugging minified and uglified JavaScript code and spending most of the day in browser developer tools.
  • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional test suites (e.g., Selenium, unittest, Mocha, Karma, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Experience using Git in a professional workplace environment.
  • Self-motivated and self-managing.
  • A great deal of patience.
  • Bonus: Typescript, Go.
